Warrant's 1989 debut is easily their most upbeat album -- probably their most fun, too. It's got three Top 30 pop hits, the biggest being dreamy blue-suburban-skies homage-to-fans ballad "Heaven," and the best being the "Sweet Jane"-riffed "Down Boys," a proto-bohemian fantasy about running with cool kids. The low-rent-Van-Halen "32 Pennies" and exotic-animal-shoed title cut inhabit opposing ends of the economic class spectrum. The entire album is steeped in catchy '70s classic rock, from "Big Talk"'s Thin Lizzy guitars to the rural Creedence-swamp feel of the cricket-chirping "In The Sticks."
