Acerca de Anya Marina
Anya Marina is a San Diego-based singer-songwriter whose pop songs fall just slightly left of center. A radio intern and standup comic before turning her sights to music, Marina got her start at an open mic. She then released a five-song EP in 2005, Exercises in Racketeering, and a full-length debut that same year, Miss Halfway. She soon found herself opening for Jason Mraz and had songs used on Grey's Anatomy. A follow-up, Slow & Steady Seduction: Phase II, appeared in 2009, and "Satellite Heart" was used in the mega-hyped sequel to Twilight: New Moon. Despite her prominent placement in high-profile soundtracks and TV shows, her wryly funny lyrics and diverse arrangements (she remains as cool when rocking out as when nailing the timeless Antonio Jobim landmark "Aguas De Marco" on Slow & Steady), Marina is a highly distinct voice on the pop music landscape.
